It’s a triple-headed game of the week show. First up is Oguchi Onyewu’s FC Twente beating PSV 2-0 to go top of the Eredivisie in Holland. We jabber about the joys of watching a game with no superstar distractions and sing the praises of Twente’s Theo Janssen, who scored both a memorable penalty and a magical left-footed chip. See below for the vids.
Second is the Milan derby, where a Zlatan-less Milan beat Inter 3-0 with two goals from young Alexandre Pato and one from Antonio “there’s no I in TEAM, but two in INSANITY” Cassano. Video of Cassano’s silliness below too.
Last and probably least, in terms of international audience, was Team TSS’s heart-breaking, elbow-dislocating 3-2 defeat in CVSA Division 7. Read the match report for details.
We also call last orders on this week’s “Six Degrees” competition. Can you link Cobi Jones and Asamoah Gyan by players who’ve played on club teams together? Do so in the comments or by sendning ane email to soccer[at]wrir.org. Winner will be announced on Thursday’s show.
We close with the Wikipedia Game, where Taylor and Albert do battle over Dutch players.
